Security Training
Many schools offer courses for security and law enforcement which are often taught by instructors who have little or no experience in law enforcement and have never been involved in a deadly physical confrontation outside of a controlled setting (i.e. ring, tournament, etc.)

All of our security and law enforcement instructors are former military and law enforcement personnel, who have used their training and techniques in real world scenarios.

Class D Security Officer License Course
The State of Florida requires a total of 40-hours of instruction for Class “D” license training. Tiger and Dragon offers this course on a weekly basis.
This course covers all of the subjects required by the State of Florida and is taught by retired police officers who are subject mater experts.

All student are “walked” through the State application process in a step-by-step manner to ensure that the license application is complete and filled out properly. Students passing the final exam will be given proof of completion to provide to the State when they apply for the Class “D” license.
Florida Class G Statewide Firearms License Course
In accordance with Florida Chapter 493, Class “G” licensed armed security officers are required to complete 28-hours of classroom and range instruction under the direction of a Class “K” licensed instructor. This course is divided into a 3 day training program.
Day One and Day Two are conducted as ten-hour classroom days at our training facility in Kendal. Day Three includes 4 hours of classroom review, testing and 4 hours of range instruction with a final qualification.
The Florida Armed Security Officer Course covers all information required by the State of Florida for Class “G” license applicants, including:
Florida Statues 493, 775, and 790
- Firearms Safety & Mechanics
- Civil Liability & Use of Force Issues
- Handgun Marksmanship
- Care and Maintenance of Firearms
- Officer Safety Issues
- Additional required topics
Additionally, all students are “walked” through the State application process in a step-by-step manner to ensure that the License application is complete and filled out correctly.
Students that pass the final exam and range qualification will be provided the necessary documentation to provide to the State when applying or a Class “G” license.
Once the license is issued, students must return to a qualified and properly licensed K Instructor once per year to complete annual rectification in order to retain their license.
Note: Florida Statutes require that all applicants for a Class G License be licensed as a class D Security Officer. Therefore, all G license applicants must either already possess a Class D license, or must be applying to the State for the D license at the same time.
Firearms & Equipment
This class requires the use of a .38 revolver, .357 revolver, or 9mm semi-automatic pistol. Students possessing their own firearm may use them on the range, however, do not bring them to class. Those students who do not have their own firearm may use firearm provided by the instructor by paying a cleaning and maintenance fee of $20 on the first day of class.
All firearms needed for the classroom component will be provided by he traiing facility. You are recommended to bring the following items to the range.
- Unloaded .38 Revolver or 9mm semi-automatic handgun
- Three (3) or more unloaded speed loaders for Revolvers or three (3) magazines for Pistols
- Quality duty holster and magazine pouches (NO cross draw, shoulder, or ankle holsters)
- Comfortable clothing that provides protection from flying brass
If you are bringing a handgun to the range, it should be brought to unloaded and encased. All student owned firearms will be subjected to a safety inspection prior to live fire.

Executive Protection / Bodyguard Course Level I
This course is designed to train new executive protection agents and to improve the knowledge and the skills of security professionals involved in moderate risk security assignments and in personal protection work by introducing a full range of security fundamentals and exercises developed to ingrain the kills taught throughout the program.

BACKGROUND OF TRAINING ORGANIZATIONS
The Executive Protection course is being offered by Tiger & Dragon Security Academy (T&D), Strategic Security Consultants LLC and Premier Group and Associates (PG&A).
Tiger and Dragon is a Miami based Security Training Facility licensed by the State of Florida (License DS 2600006), and a Mixed Martial Arts school sanctioned by the International Shootfighting Association. Its training staff consist of police instructors and former military personnel with expertise in the security and law enforcement fields.
Strategic Security Consultants (SSC) is a Miami based consulting firm owned and operated by a former Federal and State law enforcement officer and law enforcement trainer. SSC management counts with an extensive background in counter-terrorism, Special Operations work and High Risk Protective Operations in the United States and overseas. We specialize in teaching and developing basic through advanced training programs for private companies and government contractors. Our training staff includes former law enforcement officers with a background in DIGNITARY / WITNESS PROTECTION DUTIES, SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS (SWAT) UNITS, COUNTER-TERRORISM, organize crime units, intelligence units, crime suppresion units; and US military personnel with extensive special forces background. Our staff has trained security contractors, and members of military and government organizations in the United States and overseas. SSC staff has worked with agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, TSA, the FAA, CBP, US Armed Forces and other local organizations.
PG &Associates is a Florida licensed company specializing in celebrity and executive protection work in the United States and overseas. PG&A staff consist of former law enforcement, former military and security professionals with a wide range of expertise. Strategic Security Consultants, Tiger & Dragon Security Academy and PG&A management count with well over 50 years of combined experience in domestic and foreign police and military operations. Our expertize spans from years of working experience in a magnitude of environments ranging from discrete assignments with executive and celebrities to high risk security operations such force protection work, counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, crime suppression and fugitive recovery.
Additionally, we have trained and worked with law enforcement and military personnel in the United States, its territories; Europe, Central and South America and other countries.
Course Description:
The executive protection course, which is also known by numerous other names such as personal protection and dignitary protection to name a few, is an in-depth training program designed to both expand the security professionals knowledge and enhanced their performance and productivity as it relates to personal safety and advanced security concepts and practices. Personal Protection professionals are required to be well versed in personal safety concepts, physical security concepts, emergency medicine, communications, surveillance and self defense to name a few. Following is a short description of some of the core subjects taught during our executive protection training program.
Security Concepts
Students learn to perform client risk assessments, physical security surveys and route surveys in order to plan and execute personal security operations and physical security operations as a member of a protection team and as an individual protection professional. Other subjects taught include counter-surveillance skills, threat recognition as well as a number of basic and advanced skills designed to enhance the security professionals response to threats. In order to maximize our students learning experience, all of our students rotate positions during all practical exercises. Alternating between VIP, bad guys, team leader and all other team positions in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 man teams, allows our students to put into practice all of the skills learned while escorting a VIP and responding to realistic threats in a safe; yet, realistic training environment.

Security professionals, security directors, executives, celebrities, dignitaries, members of the media and other professionals whose job functions require them to work in high risk environments, hire or supervise security personnel, manage security operations or travel.
All Firearms Courses are offered in partnership with Strategic Security Consultants LLC; a Training and Consulting firm owned and operated by former federal and state law enforcement officers with an extensive background in special operations work and counter-terrorism units. SSC staff consist of former military personnel and law enforcement officers with tactical background as instructors and members of special operations units and special forces personnel with operational experience in the Continental United States and overseas.
Concealed Weapons / NRA Basic Handgun Course
This is an NRA Basic Handgun Coruse that meets and exceeds the state of Florida training requirements for Concealed Weapons Licenses. The course is recognized for licensing throughout most of the United States and the State of Florida Concealed Weapons License is recognized 35 states.
Training materials such as gun, ammunition, targets, range fees and a comprehensive training manual are provided in this class.
Topics discussed include gun safety, proper carry, deployment, operation and use in self defesne situations along with a list of basic procedures to follow during a life threatening encounter. Storage, cleaning, maintenance and liability issues are among other subjects discussed.
Tactical Pistol – Level I
This course is designed to develop the skills used by those students who use firearms in a tactical environment or as a tool for self defense. The course will start with developing fundamental shooting skills and progress to more advanced exercises designed to reduce your reaction time while increasing your accuracy and gun handling skills.

Tactical Carbine – Level I
Introduction: This course is designed to develop students understanding and proficiency with a tactical carbine. Once the fundamentals are grasped, students will progress to more advanced shooting skills.

Tactical Shotgun Level I
Introduction: This course begins by introducing the basic shooting fundamentals and general firearms safety skills. Once the fundamentals are mastered, students will progress into different ammunition issues, shotgun patterns, use of cover, and other critical skills used in defensive shooting and tactical environments. Student will practice the new skills through challenging drills to designed to improve the student’s ability to effectively engage threats under a variety of conditions.
